Objective

The primary objective of Skip-Bo is to be the first player to eliminate all cards from your Stock Pile by strategically placing them in the Building Piles. The game accommodates 2 to 6 players, providing flexibility for various group sizes.

Cards

Skip-Bo features 162 cards, comprising two types – numbered cards (1-12) and Skip-Bo cards, serving as wild cards. Numbered cards are color-coded into blue (1-4), green (5-8), and red (9-12). The colors are aesthetic, with only the numerical value influencing gameplay.

Gameplay:

Setup:

Designate a dealer who shuffles the deck and deals 10-30 cards to each player, face down, forming their Stock Pile.
The top card of each Stock Pile is revealed.
Create a Draw Pile with the remaining cards and establish 4 Building Piles.
Each player has 4 Discard Piles in front of them.

Starting the Game:

The youngest player or the one to the left of the dealer initiates the game.
Players must maintain 5 cards in their hand.
At the beginning of each turn, draw cards from the Draw Pile to replenish your hand to 5 cards.

Building Piles:

Play cards onto the Building Piles in sequential order, starting with 1 or a Skip-Bo card.
If unable to start a new Building Pile, discard a card onto your Discard Piles.
Aim to clear your Stock Pile by strategically playing cards from your hand, Stock Pile, and Discard Piles.

Dismantling Building Piles:

Once a Building Pile reaches 12, it is dismantled, and the cards move to the side.
Maintain a maximum of 4 Building Piles.

Winning the Game:

The first player to clear their Stock Pile wins.
Optionally, assign points for winning and penalize opponents based on remaining cards in their Stock Pile.
